Piercing needles (hollow·several gauges)

Stainless steel needles used to make a piercing. They are hollow tubes with the tip cut at an angle, so they cut through tissue instead of pushing it aside. The shape lets the jewelry be drawn straight into the fresh channel.

Not the same thing as an ear piercing gun

The ear piercing gun used in shops forces the jewelry through and crushes the tissue on the way. This needle cuts the tissue with the edge of a hollow tube, so there is less damage and the healing runs differently. On thicker sites such as the genitals or the nipples a gun cannot be used at all, which is why only this method is used there.

You have to pick the gauge

They come in several gauges. The needle has to match the bar thickness of the jewelry going in afterward, because too thin and the jewelry will not pass, too thick and the hole ends up loose.

Before you buy

This is only a tool, it is no substitute for the skill of doing the procedure. The genitals, the nipples and the tongue are places where blood vessels and nerves are concentrated, and being off by a few millimeters can leave bleeding that will not stop or sensation that never comes back. Leave the procedure to a professional piercing studio. Needles are single use consumables, and washing one to use again or sharing one transmits blood borne disease. Boiling at home or soaking in alcohol does not sterilize them. Do not use them on a wound or an inflamed area, and put a used needle in a rigid puncture proof container to dispose of it.
