Frenum piercing ring (for the penile frenulum)

A barbell worn in the frenulum of the penis. The frenulum is the thin band below the urethral opening that connects to the foreskin, a sensitive spot that pulls taut during an erection. A barbell worn there brings the balls at each end into contact with the wall of a partner's vagina, and the movement of the bar passes sensation to the wearer as well.

What 316L stainless steel means

The material is 316L stainless steel. The original description notes that this grade is used in high end watch components. In jewelry that stays against the body for long periods, the material is not a matter of taste but of safety. Cheap alloys corrode in sweat and body fluids, and those particles are left inside the hole.

How to read the sizing

It is written as three numbers, such as 2×4×8mm. The first is the bar diameter of 2mm, the middle is the bar length of 4mm, and the last is the ball diameter of 8mm. The most important of the three is the first. If the bar is thicker than your hole it will not go in, and forcing it will tear the hole. Measure the bar diameter of the jewelry you currently wear before ordering.

It locks with two balls

The bar is threaded at both ends and two balls screw down to lock it. When you change jewelry, unscrewing only one side and leaving the other attached is the way to avoid losing a ball. The balls are small and disappear down the drain if you drop one in a sink, so lay a towel down while you handle them.

What to know before you use it

We sell the jewelry only. We do not perform the piercing and we have no specialist who can advise you on how it is done. The frenulum may look thin, but blood vessels run through it, so piercing it yourself with a needle can lead to bleeding that will not stop or to an infection. Always have it done at a professional piercing studio, and do not change jewelry before the healing period is over. When you do increase the gauge, go up one step at a time rather than skipping several at once.
