A lock you close by pressing
Rather than fastening with a padlock, it closes by pressing a button. You can close it one handed on your own, and there is no separate part to handle when locking. How to use

Measure your waist with a tape measure and choose M for 60 to 90cm or L for 90 to 110cm.

Wash the belt and the cage with lukewarm water and mild soap and dry them completely.

Put the belt around your waist, line up the cage, then press the button to lock it.

Once it is locked, sit, stand, and walk to check that nothing is digging in.

The key stays with whoever holds control of the lock, and the spare goes somewhere else.
Cleaning and storage
Wash the stainless steel parts with lukewarm water and mild soap, and clean the silicone lining separately by running a finger along it. A belt style device sits against a wide area of skin and collects sweat, so it is better to take it off once a day and wash it along with your body. After urinating, run water through the inside of the cage to rinse it so no odor is left. Water getting inside the button lock makes it stiff, so shake it out after rinsing and dry it completely. Once it is dry, store the belt laid open in a cool place rather than folded.
Caution
For adults only. If the belt or the ring squeezes hard enough to cause numbness or a change in skin color, that is a sign that blood flow is blocked, and it has to come off there and then. A button lock is easy to close, which also makes it easy to close too tight without noticing, so check that a finger still fits underneath after locking. Wear it for only an hour or two at first and build up while watching how your body responds.
