Leather full hood (nostril holes only·no eye opening)

A leather hood that covers the entire head. The eyes and the mouth are closed, and only at the nose are there two holes rimmed with metal. The bottom edge comes down to the neck and is open below that.

The only airway is the two nose holes

Unlike a blindfold that covers the eyes or a gag that only closes the mouth, this shuts off sight, sound, and the mouth at once. The one passage left is the two nostril holes, so before using it you have to check that breathing through the nose alone is comfortable. The surface is leather, so the air inside does not escape easily and it warms up quickly.

Getting it on and aligned comes first

The holes are only at the nose, so even a slight rotation blocks the airway. Once it is on, feel with your hand that the two holes sit right in front of the nostrils and listen to make sure the breathing sounds easy. The bottom reaches only to the neck and is open below, so to remove it you take hold of the bottom edge and roll it upward.

What to know before you use it

Some leather hoods of this kind have zippers that open and close over the eyes and the mouth, but this one has no such openings, only the nose holes. The person wearing it can neither see nor speak, so you must agree on a gesture signal such as tapping a hand, and start short. Saliva or sweat pooling inside makes it slippery, so take it off partway through and wipe it out.
