Low-temperature SM candle

An SM candle made to melt at a lower temperature than an ordinary candle. It is meant for play in which wax is dripped onto the body to give a sensation of heat. Ordinary candles melt at a high temperature and will burn you if used the same way.

Height is temperature

Wax cools as it falls. The higher you hold the candle, the lower the temperature when it lands, and the closer you hold it, the hotter it is. Starting at a height of about 30cm and lowering it a little at a time while you watch your partner's reaction is the safe way. Each time you move to a new spot, test once on a less sensitive area such as the inside of the arm before you continue.

Places to avoid

Do not drip it on the face, the eyes, the neck, the genitals, or mucous membranes. Avoid broken skin and skin that has been shaved recently as well. The fleshy parts of the back, the stomach, and the outside of the thighs are safe enough.

Before you use it

Low temperature means lower than an ordinary candle, not that it is not hot. People vary in what they can take, so test a single drop at a time to begin with. Never leave the room with the flame lit, and use it away from bedding and curtains. Scraping hardened wax off with fingernails damages the skin, so apply oil and push it off instead.
