The simplest way to stop speech

The ball goes between the teeth, the strap goes around the back of the head, and the buckle locks it. The parts amount to a ball, a strap, a buckle and a D-ring on each side, so there is almost nothing to break. The length is set through the holes in the strap, so it fits heads of different sizes.

How it differs from a hard ball

The ball is soft rubber, so it feels gentler against the teeth than a plastic one. It compresses a little when bitten, which keeps the jaw less wide open and reduces the strain. In exchange, it leaves marks after a long session, and biting hard leaves a pressed-in dent.

Before you use it

In the photos the ball has no ventilation hole, so the wearer breathes through the nose alone while it is in.
