Short leather flogger (black and red braided handle)

A short flogger made from woven leather strips. The handle and the falls are both leather, and the overall length is short enough to leave room to swing even in a small room. A woven loop at the end of the handle goes around the wrist.

A handle built by weaving

The handle is wrapped in tightly woven leather strips, and both ends are closed off with a rounded knot. In the hand, the ridges of the weave give it grip, so it does not slip easily even when your palm is damp with sweat. The wrist loop means it will not fly off if it slips mid swing.

Falls split into several strands

The striking part is made of several narrow leather strips. Unlike a single tailed whip, the force is divided between the strands, so the same swing does not land on one point. The product photos show one woven in black and red together and one in all black.

Before you use it

Because it is short, you work close in rather than aiming from a distance. There is less room to miss, but the strength of your arm carries straight through, so try a stroke on your own arm first to gauge the force. Strike only the buttocks and the outside of the thighs, and stay away from the flanks over the kidneys, the spine, the neck, the face and the joints. There is no original description, so the exact length and weight are not confirmed; in the photos it looks about the length of an arm.
