Black latex hood (full head·eye and mouth straps)

A black latex hood that covers the whole head and comes down to the neck. The supplier attached no written description, so only what can be confirmed from the product photos is set out here. A buckled latex strap runs around the hood at eye level and another at mouth level, and the wide panels attached to those straps cover the eyes and the mouth.

The straps decide what is covered

Fastening a strap appears to bring the panel over the eyes and the mouth, and releasing it exposes what is underneath. The small frames in the photos show the mouth open with the lips visible, a tongue-shaped latex piece held in the mouth, and a cover blocking the front of the mouth. The supplier does not say whether all of these pieces come in the basic set, so check the contents when you order.

Settle breathing and signals first

With the eyes covered and the mouth blocked, the wearer cannot see ahead and can barely speak. That is why a signal other than speech has to be agreed before you start. A common method is to have the wearer hold a key or a ball and release it, at which point you undo everything immediately. Do not use it on a day when the nose is blocked.

What to know before you use it

The original has no size chart. Measure the head circumference and the neck circumference and ask whether a matching size exists when you order. Latex does not breathe, so heat and moisture build up inside the hood, which makes short spells the safer way to use it. Metal buckles can dig into the back or the side of the head, so run your hand over it once it is fastened and check for any spot that presses.
