Long latex gloves, pair

A pair of black latex gloves covering from the fingertips to the upper arm. Each finger is individually molded, so the shape of the hand shows through, and the outer surface is strongly glossy. In the photographs they come up past the elbow to above the middle of the upper arm.

Unlike thick rubber work gloves, these are molded thin, so the knuckles and even the line of the nails keep their shape. Sensation at the fingertips is preserved to the same degree, so gripping and touching things is barely hindered. Being thin, though, they tear easily. Catch them on a nail, a ring, or a watch clasp and they split right there.

Putting them on is the risky part

Most latex gloves are damaged while they are being put on. Dust baby powder inside or apply a thin coat of silicone-based lubricant, and stretch them with a broad grip of the palm. Oils and oil-based lubricants rot the material. Do not pull them up the arm in one long stroke; work up a little at a time and push the trapped air out so no wrinkles are left behind.

Before you order

The supplier has attached no written description and no size chart. Measure your hand circumference and hand length, your arm length, and your upper arm circumference, and ask when you order whether a matching size exists. Latex does not breathe, so wearing them long pools sweat inside and makes them slippery to remove. The outer surface shows fingerprints readily, so if you plan to take photographs, wipe them once with a dry cloth first.
